New batch of pilots passed out

Al Ain, Jan. 17th, 2007 (WAM)--H.H Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, patronized Wednesday the graduation ceremony of a new batch of pilots and air force officer cadets held at the Khalifa bin Zayed Air College in Al Ain.

Present at the ceremony also were General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, Sheikh Tahnoun bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Ruler's Representative in the Eastern Region, Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, National Security Advisor, Lt.General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Interior, Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Presidential Affairs, Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, Chief of the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince's Court, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Executive Council, other sheikhs, ministers, senior military and civilian officials and heads of diplomatic corps accredited to UAE.

In a statement shortly after the ceremony, Sheikh Mohammed said: "This is a historic day for our Armed Forces. A day in which an elite of dedicated and patriotic young men have been commissioned in the Armed Forces".

Sheikh Mohammed also called for young men and women to join the armed forces and become the vanguards for defending the country and its magnificent achivements.
