|  | Etisalat revenue crosses Dh3.16bOct 19, 2005 - 11:35 - ABU DHABI, 19 Oct, 05 (WAM) - The net revenue of Etisalat crossed Dh3.160 billion during the third quarter of the year 2005 as against Dh2.616 billion in the same period previous year, while the net profit rose to Dh1.112 billion against Dh908.514 million in the same period last year.
The operating income of the telecom utility also climbed to Dh1.046 billion against Dh874 million in the previous period.
Earnings per share reached Dh0.31 against Dh0.25 during the same period last year, according to reports in the UAE's dailies.
Compared to the same period last year, the Corporation's net assets increased by Dh2.324 billion to Dh15.609 billion, an increase of 17 per cent.
The corporation spent Dh843 million as capital expenditure during the first nine months of the year. Telephone, mobile and internet services lines grew by 4 per cent, 23 per cent and 20 per cent respectively over September 2004.
At the end of September 2005, the number of lines in service are 1,222,905 for telephone, 4,305,821 for mobile and 4,698,17 for internet. Mobile penetration now exceeds 95 per cent.
During the year company made capital investments of Dh1.559 billion while it purchased fixed assets amounting to Dh843.439 million against Dh834.684 million in the similar period of last year.
It also earned an interest income of Dh184.910 million during the period under review.
